Ordering and Quotes

  1. Do you provide custom print quotes?

Yes. We provide fast, competitive quotes for all types of printing, whether you're ordering business cards, brochures, large-format signage or promotional products. We work with businesses, charities, schools and organisations throughout Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the UK. If your product isn't listed online, simply use our Request a Quote form or contact our team with your requirements and we'll provide a tailored quotation.

  2. Can I order printing online 24/7?

Yes. Our online ordering system is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Orders placed outside of working hours will be processed the next business day.

  3. What information should I include when requesting a quote?

To provide an accurate quotation, please tell us the type of product you require, the quantity, finished size, paper or material, preferred finish and your delivery location. Whether your order is being delivered within Belfast, elsewhere in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland or the UK, we'll provide the most suitable printing and delivery options. If you already have artwork prepared, simply attach your files or send a sample so we can check your print requirements.

  4. Will I receive an invoice or proof before printing?

Yes. Every confirmed order receives a formal invoice together with a digital proof for approval before production begins. We only print once you've approved the artwork, giving you the opportunity to check spelling, layout, colours and content before your project goes to press. If you need help making changes, our Design Services team will be happy to assist.

Artwork and Design

  1. What file formats do you accept for print?

For the highest quality results, we recommend supplying artwork as PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4 files. We also accept high-resolution PDF, TIFF, EPS and JPEG files. If you're unsure whether your artwork is suitable for printing, we'll happily check it before production. You can also read our Artwork & File Setup Guide for advice on preparing print-ready files.

  2. How do I prepare artwork for printing?

To achieve the best print quality, set your document to the correct finished size, include 3 mm bleed on all edges, use CMYK colour mode and ensure all images are at least 300 dpi. Keep text and important graphics at least 3 mm inside the trim area to prevent anything being cut off during production. If you're unsure how to prepare your files, our Artwork & File Setup Guide provides step-by-step advice, or our team can check your artwork before printing.

  3. Do you offer professional design services?

Yes. Our experienced designers create professional artwork for businesses, charities, schools and organisations throughout Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the UK. Whether you need a simple business card, promotional flyer, booklet, banner or a complete set of branded marketing materials, we can design artwork from scratch or update your existing files. Find out more about our Design Services.

  4. Can you fix issues with my artwork?

Yes. We regularly correct common artwork problems including missing bleed, incorrect colour settings, low-resolution images and layout issues. If we identify anything that could affect the finished print, we'll contact you before production begins and explain the best solution. Our aim is to ensure every job leaves us looking professional while avoiding unnecessary delays or costly reprints.

  5. Can you help if I don't have artwork?

Yes. If you don't have artwork, our experienced designers can create it for you. Whether you need a simple business card, a professionally designed flyer, a roller banner or a complete set of branded marketing materials, we'll work with you to produce artwork that's ready for print. Learn more about our Design Services.

  6. Can you match my company branding?

Yes. We can work with your existing logo, fonts and brand colours to ensure your printed materials are consistent with your business identity. If you have brand guidelines, simply send them with your artwork. If not, our design team can help create a professional, consistent look across your stationery, brochures, signage and promotional materials.

  3. What paper types and finishes are available?

We offer a wide range of paper stocks and finishing options to suit every project. Choose from matt, silk and gloss coated papers, along with uncoated and recycled stocks for a more natural finish. We also provide premium finishing options including lamination, spot UV, digital foiling and embossing to help your printed materials stand out. If you're unsure which option is best for your project, our team will be happy to recommend the most suitable combination.

  4. Can you print large-format graphics and signage?

Yes. We specialise in large-format printing for businesses, retailers, schools, charities and event organisers throughout Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the UK. We produce banners, posters, exhibition graphics, retail signage, PVC banners, mesh banners and promotional displays using professional equipment that delivers vibrant colours, sharp detail and long-lasting durability for both indoor and outdoor use.

  5. What is the difference between matt, gloss, and silk finishes?

The right finish depends on the look you want to achieve. Matt provides a smooth, non-reflective surface that's ideal for premium brochures and business literature. Gloss creates bright colours and a reflective finish, making it perfect for photographs and promotional marketing materials. Silk offers a subtle sheen, combining vibrant colour reproduction with excellent readability, making it one of the most popular choices for flyers, leaflets and brochures.

  6. Do you check every job before printing?

Yes. Every order is reviewed by our experienced team before production begins. We check artwork for resolution, bleed, sizing, colour settings and general print suitability to help avoid common problems. If we identify anything that could affect the finished result, we'll contact you before printing to discuss the best solution. This attention to detail is one of the reasons customers across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the UK continue to trust Print Direct NI with their printing requirements.

  7. Can you help me choose the right print product?

Of course. With more than 30 years of commercial printing experience, we're happy to recommend the best products for your budget and marketing goals. Whether you need flyers, booklets, large-format signage or branded promotional products, we'll explain the options and help you choose the most effective solution.

Proofs, Samples and Reprints

  1. Can I request a printed proof?

Yes. Printed proofs are available on request and are recommended for larger print runs or projects where colour accuracy is especially important. A small charge may apply to cover production and postage costs. If you're unsure whether a printed proof is necessary, our team can advise you based on your artwork, product and quantity before your order goes into production.

  2. What happens if I approve a proof with an error?

We print exactly what you approve, so any spelling or layout mistakes in the approved file are the customer’s responsibility. If an error occurs on our side, we will reprint the affected items at no cost.

  3. Do you offer a satisfaction guarantee?

Yes. Every order is carefully checked before dispatch and backed by our quality guarantee. If there's a problem caused during production or your order doesn't meet the agreed specification, we'll investigate quickly and, where appropriate, arrange a reprint or refund. Customer satisfaction is at the heart of everything we do, whether you're ordering from Belfast, elsewhere in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland or the UK.

  1. How long will my order take?

Typical production times are 1–2 working days for flyers and business cards, 1–3 working days for posters and banners, and 3–7 working days for booklets and bespoke print products. Production begins once your artwork has been approved and payment has been received. If you have a specific deadline, please contact us before placing your order and we'll do our best to accommodate your timescale.

Technical and Product Questions

  1. What sizes can you print?

We print everything from standard business cards to super-wide banners, exhibition displays and large-format signage. Popular sizes include A7, A6, A5, A4, A3, A2, A1, A0, DL and square formats, while bespoke sizes are available for many products. If you require custom dimensions, simply let us know and we'll recommend the most suitable printing solution. Learn more about our Large Format Printing services.

  2. Can you produce custom sizes and shapes?

Yes. Many of our products can be produced in custom sizes and shapes to suit your project. We regularly manufacture bespoke stickers, labels, signage, banners and promotional materials tailored to our customers' exact requirements. If you have specific dimensions or require shaped cutting, send us your artwork and we'll advise on the best production method before printing.

  3. Is there a minimum or maximum order quantity?

We cater for everything from short-run digital printing to large-volume commercial print orders. Minimum quantities vary depending on the product, while many items can be produced in almost any quantity. Whether you need a handful of business cards or thousands of brochures for a marketing campaign anywhere in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland or the UK, we'll recommend the most cost-effective option for your order.

  4. What binding options do you offer for booklets?

We offer a range of professional booklet binding options to suit different projects and budgets, including saddle-stitched booklets, PUR bound books and wiro-bound documents. Stapled booklets are ideal for smaller publications, PUR binding creates a premium square spine for thicker documents, while wiro binding allows pages to lie completely flat, making it perfect for manuals, reports, notebooks and training guides.

  5. What’s the difference between PUR and saddle-stitched?

The best binding option depends on the size and purpose of your booklet. Saddle-stitched booklets are folded and stapled through the spine, making them ideal for brochures, programmes, magazines and catalogues with lower page counts. PUR binding uses a high-strength adhesive to create a square spine, giving thicker documents a more professional, book-like appearance with excellent durability. If you're unsure which option is right for your project, our team will be happy to advise. You can also learn more about our Booklet Printing services.

  6. Do you offer special finishes like lamination, foiling or spot UV?

Yes. We offer a range of premium finishing options to help your printed materials stand out, including matt, gloss and soft-touch lamination, digital foiling and spot UV on selected products. These finishes are ideal for business cards, brochures, presentation folders, invitations and luxury marketing materials. If you're looking to create a premium finish, we'll recommend the most suitable option for your artwork and budget.
